| I was born in Elazığ,which is located in the eastern part of Turkey. I completed primary school in Elazig and graduated from Science High School in Sivas. After that, I moved to Ankara, the capital of Turkey, to complete my undergraduate degree in Computer Education & Instructional Technology (CEIT) at the Middle East Technical University (METU). I worked approximately two years for several different companies as a web programmer and database administrator. Afterward, I was hired as a full time teaching/research assistant in CEIT. I completed my doctoral study in the Instructional Design & Technology program (ID&T) at The University of Memphis. Currently, I am an assistant professor in the Instructional Technology program at Texas Tech University(TTU). Prior to joining the faculty at TTU, I was responsible for the research design and data analysis of various educational projects for the Center for Research in Educational Policy (CREP). In addition, I taught/co-taught instructional technology courses at the University of Memphis. I have also worked two years as a Research Associate for the Appalachian Technology in Education Consortium (ATEC) to provide technical assistance to K-12 educators in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
